This superbly detailed antique French Louis XV style fireplace fender showcases exceptional craftsmanship and refined decorative design. Crafted in solid silver-plated brass, the fender displays remarkable depth, clarity, and crisp casting throughout. The piece features striking lion rampant at each end, beautifully modelled and rich in detail, which connect seamlessly to a finely executed pierced brass gallery. Designed for practicality as well as style, the lion terminals adjust outward from the closed position, allowing the fender to expand to suit the fireplace opening. The rear bears the stamped marks “MG” and “879”, adding further authenticity and interest. With its elegant proportions and bold decorative presence, this Louis XV style French fireplace fender creates an impressive focal point in both period interiors and contemporary homes. A rare and highly decorative example of antique French fireside furniture.

Lions height 34cm - max width 1029cm - closed 99cm
